‘Queers for Palestine’ BLOCK NYC Pride Parade

The NYC Pride March through Greenwich Village was shut down by Gaza protesters on Sunday afternoon. The protesters blocked the street and prevented LGBTQ revelers from continuing on their march to celebrate their LGBTQ rights. They covered floats in red paint.

"Over 40,000 dead," the counter-prosters chanted, holding up their banners and citing stats from the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry. "You're arresting us instead. Free, free Palestine. Free, free, free Palestine."

The banners read "No queer liberation without Palestinian liberation" and "Palestine will be free." The confusing message has been seen at many Pride events since October 7, 2023, when Hamas massacred 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped over 200 people. Freedom News was on the scene in downtown Manhattan.

Writers Against the War on Gaza were out on Sunday in New York as well and took footage of Queers for Palestine protesters vandalizing Pride floats that were carrying drag queens, blasting electronic music, and waving trans flags.

The NYPD moved in to arrest the protesters, dragging them away. The protesters all wore matching t-shirts. Other reports indicated that protesters threw red paint on Pride march attendees as well.

Pamphlets reading "no queer liberation without Palestinian liberation" were passed among the crowd.

Others at the parade reported that a contingent of Jewish Pride marchers waved both Israeli and Palestinian flags.

Timcast was out earlier in the parade and shared footage of LGBTQ marchers protesting police, chanting "stop Cop City," while those who followed chanted "free, free Palestine" and carried signs reading "no Pride in genocide."

"By any means necessary," they chanted as they walked downtown.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams was downtown for the festivities and said "It was an honor to march today alongside members of our #GetStuffDone team and their families in the world’s largest and oldest LGBTQ+ Pride march! New York City stands proudly with our LGBTQ+ community not just in June, but every single day."

The parade was led by New York Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James. "It's raining men, NYC," the announcer shouted as the elected leader and her lawfare henchwoman paraded down Fifth Avenue.

Hamas leaders have thanked American protesters for helping to create feelings of good will for the murderous terrorist group, which has as its aim the eradication of Israel, the elimination of Jewish persons worldwide, and absolutely hates gays and lesbians and criminalizing their lifestyles.
