Mattel, an American multinational toy manufacturing company, seemingly missed an X-rated error on the packaging of its “Wicked” movie dolls before they hit store shelves, according to Consequence.
Social media users observed a number of the doll boxes in retail stores include a mismatched “Wicked” web address of a pornographic site instead of the correct “WickedMovie.com.”
“Hey @Mattel whoever is responsible for your marketing/packaging for the new official Wicked dolls have made a HUGE mistake!” X (formerly known as Twitter) user @K_Y_L_I_E_1 wrote, referencing the incorrect web address printed above the product’s barcode.
“lol — if you buy your little girl a ‘Wicked’ doll, whatever you do don’t let them visit the website printed on the back of the box,” X user @BryanPassifiume wrote.

“Oh my dear god, Mattel accidentally listed “Wicked dot com” (porn site) instead of “Wickedmovie dot com” (official site) on the Wicked movie doll boxes. And it seems to be on most of the boxes in the assortment (I just checked on eBay),” X user TheVallyD wrote.

“Wicked” is a film adaptation of the popular Broadway musical featuring characters Elphaba, the green-skinned Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda, her unlikely friend and the Good Witch of the South. The musical is based on L. Frank Baum’s 1900 book, “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and its 1939 film adaptation, “The Wizard of Oz.”
At the time of publication, the affected products appear to be limited to the boxes of Mattel’s Elphaba and Glinda dolls.
Actress and singer Ariana Grande plays Glinda, while actress and singer Cynthia Ervio took on the role of Elphaba.
The new “Wicked” film hits U.S. theaters Nov. 22, 2024.
In response to a request for comment by The Daily Caller, Mattel stated Sunday:
Mattel was made aware of a misprint on the packaging of the Mattel Wicked collection dolls, primarily sold in the U.S., which intended to direct consumers to the official WickedMovie.com landing page. We deeply regret this unfortunate error and are taking immediate action to remedy this. Parents are advised that the misprinted, incorrect website is not appropriate for children. Consumers who already have the product are advised to discard the product packaging or obscure the link and may contact Mattel Customer Service for further information.
